So I had a really bad day yesterday, and as a result spent most of today in the accident and emergency ward of a local hospital.
Long story short I hit my head pretty hard on a marble fireplace, knocked myself unconcious and after many tests and brain scans I've been discharged but now I have a severe concussive brain swelling and they've written me off work for 7 days, I'm in constant agony with headaches, dizzyness and constant fatigue.
I'm seriously worried now as my boss is known to be picky with who she gives sick pay to, I'm in the middle of buying a house and I really cant afford to go without a weeks worth of pay, so despite being told I'm not allowed to read books, watch TV or look at screens I felt I needed to do a little vent doodling from my bed, and its also a little test as I may try to do a few commissions in the 7 days I'm laid off of work, because I know its against doctors advice but I really can't afford to be sick right now :C
Anyway , I'll be fine eventually, I just worry so... enjoy some cute!

Ouch, bed rest AND no entertainment of any sorts? A week of just lying there resting would be torture, I found a week with bronchitas painful enough, but I at least could read and such :C
Sounds pretty serious though, hope the activity doesn't make it any worse.
Don't see how they could deny you sick pay with that injury, and note from doctor, but good luck anyway.

*hugs* Make sure you rest, otherwise things could get worse, and no one wants that. Don't worry about the work pay .. either they will pay you, or they won't. Not-resting because of it will just mean you're off work longer, and the duration of time you are or are not getting paid for is larger.

First of all hun, Sergal say's RELAX.
As a former first aider at work (still have the knowledge, but my certificate slipped and I am not in a position to be listed), the first thing I learnt on my St Johns course was that any blow to the head involving unconsciousness should be followed up immediately with a visit to A&E. Most of the time it's concussion, but it could be a subdural hematoma, and I won't lie about how serious that one is. In fact I was very worried when you tweeted that you where trying to go to work this morning following this.
For now DON'T worry about work and sick pay. you are genuinely very sick and YOU WONT be denied this, and like wise don't panic about the house purchase either. In fact DO NOT worry about these things.
Put on some relaxing music, get a lot of rest, veg out in general and follow any advice that the NHS gives.
