Ohh dear me, there I go giving spoilers again. Perhaps I should start locking up that library of mine....
===============================================================================
Long ago, man lived in harmony with nature. He gathered berries peacefully, talked with the animals, and ate the fish from the rivers. Man knew a magical spell for the fish, where if man picked clean the bones of the fish, and returned them to the river, the fish would be brought back to life.
Everything was peaceful.
But peace could not last, a King by the name of Don'yoku wished for more land, and to have more people to work on his land, so he may be surrounded by treasure, food, and women, while others worked for him.
He launched an attack on another king, this one was named Miyamoto. Miyamoto was a kind and generous king to his people, he feared what would become of his people should Don’yoku conquer them, so the two kings went to war.
About halfway into this war is where our story takes place.
In a village under the rule of Miyamoto
This village was untouched by the war of the two kings. They practiced the magics of old, and refused to eat meat, living solely off of fish and fruit. They also still communicated with the animals.
The animals had stopped talking with most men by this point, as they wanted nothing to do with the wars of man. For in the wars of man, the animals were harmed. They were used as food, fuel, and even weapons.
One day the animals stopped talking to the people of the village.
A man by the name of Kyo lived in this village.
Kyo decided to take his sword and venture into the tall grass in which the animals live.
He came across a small dog, who growled when Kyo came near. Out of defense Kyo drew his sword. At this the dog jumped towards Kyo, trying to kill him. Before he realized what he had done, Kyo looked down to see the dog dead at his feet.
This being the first dead creature Kyo ever came across aside from the river’s fish, he began to cry at the loss of life. As the tears hit the dog, the spirit of the dog left its body and floated in front of Kyo.
“Why do you cry human? You, who kills our kind and now me.” asked the spirit.
“I cry,” claimed Kyo, “because it is a sad waste of life for you to die so early. I only ventured out here to ask why you have stopped talking with us.”
At this, the dog realized what he had done, in attacking a man just trying to defend himself. Yet he was still angered by man, not Kyo, but man.
“Grr. If that is what you were trying to do, then prove it!” it declared. “Stop Don’yoku for should he win this war then all animals will be in danger from his wicked ways.”
“But how can I stop him and his army?”
“I shall lead you into Miyamoto’s throne room, through a back passageway. He will give you something that should be able to help you.”
“Bless you spirit, then let us depart!”
So the spirit and Kyo made their way to Miyamoto’s palace, and with the spirit’s help Kyo soon found himself before Miyamoto, without even a single guard finding him.
“How did you get into my palace?!” asked Miyamoto. “Who are you?”
“I am Kyo. A spirit guided me here, he has ordered me to defeat Don’yoku. He told me you could give me the power to do so.”
“A spirit? A power? Does it mean? Yes it must. Come with me.”
Miyamoto lead Kyo down a long hall, at the end there was a suit of large blue armor. A helmet, chestplate, shoes, gloves, there were large brass rings on the ends of the the shoes and gloves, and two slots in the helm. Next to the armor was a small six sided shield with six large balls attached to it.
“This armor,” said Miyamoto, “it is cursed. Once you put it on, the power of the spirits will be at your disposal, and you will accomplish your goals, however, in exchange the spirits will take your life. You can use this armor to defeat Don’yoku.”
Without hesitation Kyo accepted. He put on the armor, and though it looked heavy on the outside, it felt so light to him. He grabbed his sword and the shield next to the armor. He asked Miyamoto the way to Don’yoku’s palace, which was three days to the north in the desert. At that he began to run there.
He did not tire. He did not hunger, he did not need rest, nor sleep, nor anything save to make it to the palace.
Upon arrival, all the guards tried to fight them, he swatted them to the side. He marched his way into the throne room where he was confronted by Don’yoku.
“Spirit, spirit, why have you come to attack me?”
“I have come to stop you and your destructive ways from killing more animals, humans, and disregarding the spirits of nature.”
With that Don’yoku called in 1,000 more soldiers to defend him. Even as easy as they would be to beat, Kyo knew the evil king would run before Kyo could make it to him.
So with all his strength, Kyo raised his fist high above his head, and smacked it straight down. This caused an earthquake, that buried the entire castle, killing everyone inside.
Time passed, and without a king, Don’kyu’s kingdom became part of the Miyamoto empire.
What happened to Kyo, the armor, or the castle? Some say they are still there, lost to the sands of time. Deep underground.
