What it really reminds me of is Eastern Mind, which is a teeny bit of a stretch, but it shares the same souls-in-purgatory theme and it's sort of horror by happenstance. I've already noticed some fanbase overlap, go figure!

Verging on obnoxious infodumping here, but if you wind up being really into Eastern Mind, the sequel was just discovered two months ago after having quite literally been one of the rarest published games on the planet. It is an exciting time to be alive
