how did you get that lovely pastel chalk look? what program did you use or is it traditional media?

I used a regular sponge brush with 44% spacing (spacing being important to achieve the texture) in Photoshop. It should be in any given version you have.

I'm not a big pokemon fan, but I do like the design of Lucario... and like Jace said, the way you pulled off that pastel chalk look is a really nice touch to it. Personally, I love the way you made her hands look.

I'm loving the Ness.

The feel of this picture brings me back to the character designs of Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Antient and worn out, but classic and remastered. Just like Smash Bros. Brawl is as of this writing. Very vivid and captivating, Tsampikos. Love this.

That's totally amazing. How did you get the colored pencil looking effect? It's so intense. I'm currently hooked on Brawl, playing as Pikachu and Sonic. I must show this to my friends, they will piss themselves with joy.

The clone issue is non existent in this game. Everyone has completely different moves as far as I can tell. But then I play very technical anyways.

I'm trying to get that way... but the uses for things like Fox Trotting, Dash Dancing, Pivoting, and the various cancels/ bounces are so far beyond my game that I am very hesitant to start getting myself into the true competitive aspect of the game[s]. I mean.. I can understand why people would do it.. but building your strategy around FRAMES OF ANIMATION, exploiting physics and neutral frames? That's too deep for me at the moment.

It is hard trying to convince the more casual players of the difference between Lucas and Ness, and Fox, Wolf, and Falco [among other things] though.

By the way, I still personally prefer Ness over Lucas, but they both have their own advantages and disadvantages. I like Lucas' PK freeze since it is directed faster and his PK thunder passing through things can be either a curse or a blessing depending on the situation. Ness' Pk fire is better than Lucas though because it gives you a chance to grab or smash your opponent while they are burning from it. The cincher for me though is that Ness' smashes are overall better.. his yoyo is far more useful in this version over the melee version, and I find is better than Lucas' slow up smash. His bat(side smash) doesn't lose much speed and hits harder than Lucas' stick, and his up/down smashes while in the air seem to work faster than Lucas.

I personally thought Lucas would suck compared to Ness, but he seems quite viable. Still.. Ness FTW! :3

Yeah, I recently changed my mind about Lucas vs Ness too. L's PK Thunder passing through enemies to score multiple hits is nice.... but I find myself wanted to hit it against a fucking wall or something to kill it since it leaves me vulnerable for far too long. Ness's is easy. It's fast and it ends after one hit. I also prefer Lucases smashes.... not just for their speed, but for their strength. I barely have to hold it to send someone flying. I still prefer Lucas's up smash though. Waiting for the yoyo to travel can be a pain.. and it doesn't have quite as much reach.

Reach... ugh. I would just like to take this time to point out how much I hate Ike, Marth, Pit, and Dedede.

Yeah, I kinda figured when I read it over that that was what you meant :3 I agree that lucas' up smash has more reach(and seemingly a bit more launch), but it takes him a while to do it I find! So, another bit of tradeoff depending on the situation.

Both of them do that, Ness just has his travel at an angle while Lucas has his rain down straight. There isn't -too- much difference there, cept I like Ness' allstar trophy better. :D

Yeah yeah I know, I was referring to both of them just being able to call down stars everywhere! Funny since neither canonically use that PSI power XD

I can honestly say that I was very disappointed to learn Ness wasn't in the game, and then ecstatic to find I was misled (Damn you Smash Dojo!) And then I disappointed myself by slowly coming to where I am now: Preferring Lucas over Ness. The shame, I've abandoned my favorite boy!

That's because Pokemon was the spiritual successor to Mother. Although they say it was mere influence... I say it's the fact that they have the same devs. I'm not going to get into this discussion though... but I will say that Creatures Inc... which stills owns 1/3 of Pokemon (and all of the toys and TCG) created the Mother series [when they where still called Ape Inc.]. As a matter of fact, the president of Creatures inc was one of the lead composer to Earthbound! So yeah... there are many similarities between the series~

Ah a fellow Brawler. I like Lucario as a character, but I just can't seem to get into him in Brawl. Still he's fun to play with, and the whole more knock-back/damage as your own damage rises is kind of nice.
