We had this guy of Afro-American persusaion calling everyone the N word.. so I started calling him Cracker.. an he gets all mad, "Do I look white? Bitch."
"Do I look black or a female dog? dumbass."
Oddly enough, I was asked to calm down and he was asked to go home.. he blew up at the manager calling her Bitch, and assorted other things and wonders why he got fired.... oi.

Afraid I haven't really seen much of anything for ad&d beyond 3rd edition first coming out so some of the basic books and psionics to see what the changes were. Talking about the expanded books adding stuff for elite clerics for the ultimate good?
I won't even touch a 4th edition, by this point WOTC are just churning stuff out to ramp out profits with little consideration for anything beyond that. 2nd Edition with Player's Options books is just fine in the end or Hackmaster for that matter.
Ahhh, haven't tried out anything by White Wolf (although I think I did get at least one book as a prize at a convention once) so I haven't seen the Exalted book. What's it cover?

Hah. But sersiously. While I share your sentiments about organized religion, the reason to point out its implication in violence isn't that religion is the root of all violence. It's an argument that 'belongs to' (should be made by) us atheists, when we respond to the assertion that people HAVE to have religion, because only religion makes people moral. (This is a view that Pew Research suggests 54% of U.S. citizens agree with.)
I'm glad I'm not female in the fandom though. Not being harangued constantly and being able to stand up to pee are good. XD

Religion is not the root of violence, its the human need to say "I am right and you all suck." that scares me.
Religion is too often used as an excuse, which sucks because a good 99% of them.. are all about peace and love, forgive and hope.

I dunno about them being all peace and love, either. The majority try and suggest that we're strangers in this sorrowful life, and that eternal bliss or punishment later are what it's really all about. As for what the original teachers actually said? I mean, who knows. Personally, I like the founder of Sikhism, Nanak Dev, who said at the outset of his great revelation: "There is no Hindu, there is no Muslim." Or Gautama Buddha's teaching that belief in gods leads to intellectual and ethical sloth.
