Nope, that wasn't the inspiration. I think the inspiration for it probably originally came out before they even thought up the Cactuar in FF.

I know I recognize it. I just know that that's also basically the exact pose of Cactuars.

As for the actual inspiration, while it looks familiar, I can't seem to come up with from what. Could just be due to having been awake for 18-20 hours every day all week.

I wanna say it was definitely anime-inspired. Something in me says FLCL or maybe that one... in space... crap! I have forgotten! There was lots of cussing and bullets and some dude was a robot for most of it. >.o

I bet until sometime tomorrow. SOMEBODY has to get it. And I know a couple of other people on my Watch list have read this manga. Also...Tanukisan is wrong, it's not FLCL.
