Alright, so I saw Horton Hears a Who for the second time on Tuesday (I watched the Matinee, and then I found out that a local theater has a special $4 movie ticket deal on Tuesdays, so I watched it again with my grandpa) and it really kicked off my obsession. I mean, I was obsessed before, but watching it again gave me a chance to really absorb everything and helped me realize how incredibly in love I am with the Mayor. x)
Since then, I've been looking up lots of YouTube videos, and I've been practicing drawing the Whos so that they're.. You know. Recognizable as Whos.
Anyhow, here are some pics of Jojo, MAYOR NED!, and myself as a Who. (: There are also some practices I did of Who-arms and.. Ned's body. I was going to finish it, but I kind of forgot. 8D;
THE BOTTOM PIC WITH EDEN AND JOJO HAS AN EXPLANATION.
Basically, I was thinking about how guys say "Oh, your mom is hot!" and it's acceptable, but then it's gross for a girl to say that about someone's dad. Which made me think about Jojo, the Mayor, and my unhealthy obsession with him. The scene just.. Had to be drawn. xD Jojo's mental trauma amuses me greatly.

XD YOU KNOW I WAS GOING TO DRAW KATIE a few days ago, but I forgot. :B
I'll have to draw her later- I've got a lot of other pics I need to finish so I can scan them. xD Ohgod, there are going to be a lot of sketch dumps!
That's the one downside to doing the whole 'sketch-a-day' project. Especially since some days I sketch 29834728 things... 8D;
HECK YEAH! It's another prime example of why Blue Sky is my absolute favorite animation company- Their movies are just so awesome and BEAUUUUTIFUL! Even the critics liked it!! <3

Completely agreed, I loved the facial animations the most though, most animated movies reuse the same animation in different situations, where as horton shows a amazing display of variaty (sp), I love the councils (I think they were) evil grin, just that huuuuuge dark smile x3.
And I'm fine with seeing anything related to horton right now,
In my world, everyone's a pony and all eat rainbows... and poop butterflies! :>
That's... buetiful Katie...?
:> :0 Haaa.... *floats into the shrubs*

YES! That was my absolute favorite part! THE EXPRESSIONSSSS! Which is probably why I loved the Mayor so much- He makes the most crazy expressions. -ADOREADORE- ~<3
Oh, yeah! That Chairman has the most creepy smile ever! I hated him, though. He called Ned a boob! Ned would never call anyone a boob. HE'S a boob! ]:<
My world is called Jessica-land! And everyone worships queen Jessica, because Jessica is SO. BEAUTIFUL.
JESSICA. THAT. WAS AWESOME.

YESSS, WHOS!! So much love! <33
Actually, with a lot of these pics, I was going for a mixture of the movie style and the traditional Dr. Seuss style! Even though I didn't have a ref of the 2D style or anything.. xD; I did remember how Seuss drew the eyes, though- You can tell I tried to make the eyes like that with my Who-self. Especially on the full-body pic. x]
And for some reason, on the pic with Eden and Jojo talking, Jojo ALWAYS reminds me of the Grinch. XD Something about his face makes me think of it every time!
Thanks a lot for the comment! <33

Aww, well thank you!! ^^ YES THE WHOS ARE SO AWESOME! Their bodies were hard for me at first (such an odd shape, especially at the belly, and the noodley arms with pretty much no bone structure also threw me off for some reason. XD)
Whenever you get the chance, you definitely should! At least rent it when it's on DVD or something. :B It's a really great movie!
I used to watch a video we had with some Seuss stories on it.. It had Green Eggs and Ham, and that story about the Star-bellied Sneetches, aaaand the Zax. xD Oh, and I think I've seen the animated version of The Grinch who Stole Christmas.. I need to see the live-action Seuss movies, so I can eecide if I hate them or not. O:

Oh man
I'm so glad to see someone else who thinks Whos are awesome. 8c Do you also like Dr. Seuss' art or just the whos? (I love his art, especially all the WWII editorials he did. so awesome)
anyhow, your Whos are totally rad. I myself have started sketching my sona as a who... because it's cute. (How The Grinch Stole Christmas is amazing! I watched it repeatedly as a kid, haha)

A lot of people seem to be getting into Whos, haha!
I've been reading a few of the old Seuss books we have laying around- I think his style has a certain charm to it, especially with all the crazy creatures and such. (: I'd like to get some of his other, better-known books to see more of it. Very cute, though, and I see the childish appeal to it.
Aww, well thank you! Oh, and you should definitely upload some sketches of your Who-doodles! I'd love to see them! :D
Actually, although I've seen the animates special a lot over the years, I never much liked it. Then again, I haven't watched it any time recently- I may have to check it out again, next time it's on TV. (:
I got into this whole Who-obsession after watching Horton Hears a Who- Which I highly recommend, by the way! They did a great job of keeping it true to Seuss's style and feel, while still giving it a slightly unique flair. The characters I adored, etc. I could just go on and on, haha! xD

Don't you watch me on DA? XD
Yes, I'm fully aware that they say Ned's name is McDodd (though I wasn't at the time of posting this, but.... This is ancient art, haha.), but his wife's is O'Malley (says on their sites and all that, or at least it did) and.. it doesn't really say which Jojo goes by. You could assume his dad's but who knows? :P
