I have had this piece in my possession for months. I think it has taken me awhile to post it because it is so personal. It was done for me by my friend
CrookedWolf. It hangs on the wall next to my bed, which should tell you how special it is to me.
CrookedWolf offered to do some art with my fursona not long after I decided on Zarafa the purple giraffe. He asked me what I wanted my fursona to be doing, and I thought long and hard. Although I generally think of Zarafa as a pretty happy-go-lucky, social giraffe, he has a quieter, soulful side as well. I sometimes imagine him up on a stage in a blues bar, singin' the blues. I told this to CrookedWolf, thinking it was a crazy idea, but he loved the concept and went with it. And I love what he did.
When I look at this piece, I hear Zarafa singing the song "Love is a Fire", by Marilyn Manson, on the "Eat Me, Drink Me" album. I know that Marilyn Manson doesn't seem to have much in common with a fuzzy purple giraffe, or even the blues, but if you listen, you can hear the blues in it. Although the album version is better, you can listen to a video here. It's particularly good after the 2:30 point:

Crooked Wolf, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
