Since this one's twice as long as most etudes, I allowed myself two days to record this one- you can hear a faint shift in sound around the middle because of combining two sessions.
This is Etude number 17 in a minor. Being so long, there are a lot of different issues to tackle all in one etude. It's got mixed and changing articulations, wide leaps, some difficult legato work, quick trills and ornaments, 32nd note surprises amidst the 16th notes, and not a lot of dynamics written in, so there are decisions to be made there. I think that's probably where this recording falls short the most, as I didn't spend much time inventing a dynamics scheme.

About the etude project:
I've been challenging myself to practice a different etude every day and prepare it to the best of my ability in one day. This has been very helpful, but I wanted to add an additional element of pressure/nervousness. So I started recording them to post here.
It's not a real performance- I usually AM playing with a metronome, and I usually record these in a couple of takes and put them together later. I'll try to do them in a single take when possible, but usually I'll break them up.
