Here, the modifications were significantly less than in the Squier. Took away the pickguard to give it a more modern look, and stuffed a powerful EMG-HZ in the bridge position. It sounds heavy and sexy :D

oh well XD i subscribed ;iconguitarfurs: for this reason mainly...and speakin about knowledge,i must say i'm not very into Metal styles too much, even tho i played it when i was younger (poorly attempt i must admit)
since im about Jazz,Soul and Funk mainly (not excellent in that too also ,of course) but i always appreciate to know other kinda music styles and every proper guitar set-up for each of them (including of course, hard rock, country classical and..basically wherever a guitar is present) and ...as far as i can remember,Amon Amarth are quite "punchy" as for a saound, right?

totally! ;) and for oddly intriguing it might be msince you mentioned fusion bass players, i must say some people like Tosin Abasi ,a progressive guitar genius, blew my mind as a whole in a second..makin me rethink all i thought i knew about metal and jazz-y styles and how way more easily "mergeable" they are compared to what i thought!
i will check Slaves of Fear out surely tho,im curious! :3
btw....jazzhead you said? which kinda fusion bass player did you listen to?

Well there are people with culture everywhere. :D While being a metalhead and a prog-rocker mainly myself I do have an ear for the more fusion-geared side of jazz too.
Jaco's first solo album has some really nice things. I won't say the classics like Donna Lee or Portrait of Tracy, but "Come on Come Over" is pretty damn awesome! :D
Pastorius is the god, but I really love the work that Marcus Miller did, especially with Miles Davis (when he was going through that whole late experimental phase) like on Tutu. And even Miller's recent things, too.

oh MIller to me is the straight continuation of Jaco,he is all about Funk, and i too watched some videos of him with MIles Davis..they were boastin! the whole place up! i have a feeling Miller used her double-thumb technique to vaguely emulate teh "shimmering brassy" resonance the TRumpet has ..and i do really appreciate musically open minded folk, lets be clear! its a quite rare thing being able to share own's veiws about many styles with other people around teh world!
oh and i gave a listen to "Come on Come Over" too ,Jaco Technique was always pristine ,regardless of teh fact he ended up sadly :(
