A small pic, but here's my army! Since this pic is taken I've gotten more and painted up some of it. bought up the rest of the models for the second stormvermin unit next t the first, added 20 night runners, painted the rat swarms and the turn counter (round thing on the left) As you can see, there's still a LOT that needs to be painted.
Last I tallied, It was somewhere around 15000 points and almost 500 models.

HO LY BALLS! That is amassive collection.... also, those things are PRICEY! I remember going to the games workshop in harvard square just to look around and my jaw would DROP at the PRICE of those things... ALSO are these pewter? I picked up painting the pewter D&D minis last year, and I have a few of them done.

Ohhhhyeah they are expensive. I'm generally pretty thrifty about saving some bucks here or there when I can, THANK YOU EBAY. Box of ten guys for $45, no thank you! Some are plastic and 'white metal' which is like pewter.
This is JUST my Skaven army, I have another large army for the 40k 'Sci Fi' version of Warhammer of probably 300 models, and shelves and book cases and displays of hundreds more DnD and assorted models that I just picked up because I liked em and wanted to paint them.
I have.. a very small percent of my collection painted, but oh well. It's fun. I'm running out of shelf space.

It's an aluminum tin alloy.
BTW, calling them expensive is like calling a car expensive. These things just cost that much, you can't really change it.
Anyway, that looks like a great army. I see many awesome and hard to get minis, like the doomwheel.
What are those round things in front? Rat swarms?

Most hobbies are expensive, I fully admit to that.
Those are some rat swarms out of the Dungeons and Dragons prepainted line they offer. I picked up 5 to use for another unit (even if they are only 0-1), just because they were inexpensive and kinda cool looking. Gonna get repainted and fit on a swarm base tho.

It's a game. A tabletop strategy wargame, where each model represents a fighter in your army. They have statlines and gear and you measure your movements and roll dice for combat.
There's a lot out there, Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40k two of the more popular ones. This army is for Warhammer Fantasy. There's a lot of rules on regiments and movement, where as in 40k it's a bit easier as they do away with regiments. Fantasy is to 40k as chess is to checkers, really.
There's some other games out that use a lot less models too, Hordes and Warmachine. I haven't played them, but I know people who do.

I give you props for getting that far... My boyfriend got into it, and as I am the artist, apparently it was my job to paint the dudes. We got comandos (the evil ones from 40K).. Um... yeah... most of them are just base black right now.. Great work. The time and effort on the ones that show the bigger pictures and the detail really shows. ^.^ I love all your rat warriors.
I've recently taken a big interest in Warhammer Fantasy Battle (thanks to Warhammer: Age of Reckoning) so I'm trying to build my own little aspiring army.
I haven't actually played any games yet, living out in the boonies and all, but I found a comic store about 40 miles away that seem to do Warhammer games on Saturday mornings, so hopefully i'll be able to try the actual TT game sometime soon.
My MAIN question is, how viable are Lizardmen in the actual game? Right off I love their appearance, the almost Aztecy feel and lots of gold and silver + wild reptilian colors. At first I was leaning to Orcs, but I think I might just collect those for fun instead of play, since it seems like their Animosity would get in the way.
And for paints do you use Citadel? Or will paints like from WalMart, etc work just as well?
