1984 was a great album in general... especially since I like guitar stuff AND keyboard stuff. And David Lee Roth.

Yeah, too bad Dave's the only one who thought the Keyboards were a good idea hehe. Still, we got some great stuff from Dave, Sammy and one or two decent songs from Gary (I liked Fire in the Hole, personally).

Truthfully even though he was a really bizarre character, I always liked Dave best. ;P Even the solo stuff, like Eat Em and Smile, which of course had Steve Vai on guitar, another guitar idol of mine in that era.

Don't forget the DLR band stuff with Joe Holmes. I loved 'Lose the Dress, Keep the Shoes'. And then there's Jason Becker..man, I like Dave, but I get the feeling he's one of those 'all show, no glow' Jerry Lewis-types. He supposedly stopped talking to Jason soon after his diagnoses...tho I'm sure Jason wouldn't say a single negative thing about him..I wrote Jason a gushing letter, and the dude wrote me a 12 paragraph note.

I mean..that probably took him all day x.x it was incredibly humbling.

Huh, nice. Yeah, it's really amazing how many great artists there are, who just seem to have fate against them sometimes.. even as simple as not being in the right place at the right time for being "discovered" or whatever. Let alone health stuff like that.
