This is one of my favorite pieces of Nyxis to date, and one of the earlier arts I've received of her, from an art trade with Tangerine-Skies on Deviantart in 2007 or 2008. Tangerine is actually the person who suggested I take on how-to-draw books to practice anatomy, so I have a lot to thank her for where I am in drawing figures today.
I asked for Nyxis in a crystal canyon, and I was just floored by the stunning pose and expression that tie this piece together. For a reason I can't explain, I feel like it really brings out Nyxis's character. I just love pieces that show a larger story than what is portrayed in the image.
Sadly, I have lost contact with Tangerine-Skies and haven't been able to find her anywhere online since she's been inactive on DA, but if anyone knows where she is today please let me know, because I still have to tell her thank-you and am interested in turning this sketch into a full-fledged piece.
