Ug. The colors!! To the snobs on Portal of Evil: I know I can't color very well- but hey, at least I try. I don't hate the color on this page, per se, but it doesn't serve the page like I think it should. It's probably the most intricate page thus far, even factoring in the Tokyo establishing shot, but I was pretty much lost when it came to choosing the colors. Regardless, there's a lot about the page I WAS satisfied with.

it dose really help out making alot more atmosphere in the comic, kinda almost drags you into it, only downside is that you cant fast read it, base your eyes wander all over the place, becase there are things to see at the entire picture... But if the story is supose to go slow, that can be an advantage...
Heh sorry i cant help but examin comics, after i got done reading a bigass comic about... comics :P

actualy after relooking at the page, i think what gives me a hard time keeping focus is the color pattern between the images, since it isent just a simple collor but a pattern, it kinda makes the images blend togeather, thus making it harder for the human mind to keep them apart
I think you make a good point... despite the detail, especially in the first panel there's no really unified focus, though my intent in panel 1 is to allow the eye to wander a bit. I think at the root of the color problem is a lack of contrast, in particular darkness. If I had added more darkness, it would have made the evening lighting much more believable.
It's certainly a tough act to follow!
In my opinion, you and the artist of Code Name: Hunter are the two best colourists in anthro comics. The attention to detail and precision is unparalleled.
