Grubs, naturally curious and always hungry, are the natural predators of the common breakfast. They are roused from restful snoozes in the early hours by their body's natural wiggling and swiftly begin the long journey from whatever blanket they've dozed under to the kitchen table. Often traveling in swarms of a half dozen or more, the migration of the grub is quite a sight to behold. Once they've caught the sent of their prey, they set to work, using their naturally kissy faces to smootch food sometimes twice as large as their own bodies. These kisses mark the food as their own and signals to the other grubs that they are to find another piece. Some grubs will try a different tactic: instead of marking food, they will smootch the one who prepared the breakfast, using an elaborate wiggle-dance to communicate their wish to be fed. The recipient will then, normally, select a choice meal for the lucky grub.
