...and I got five colors, rofl. I mated my agouti (brown) hooded female to my black hooded male to see if she carried the black gene (it's recessive, you need two black genes to get black rats). If momma had been dominant brown, not carrying a black gene, all babies would be brown with white markings. Since I had two black hooded I know that she does in fact carries black.
Now, the three pale ones from the right side. I have no idea, rofl. I'm hoping it's creme AND albino, but it might be albino, himalayan and siamese or something like that, because I've got;
a whole bunch of whole whites with pink eyes,
one pale hooded with pink eyes,
two orange hooded with pink eyes,
a few brown hooded and two black hooded with black eyes.
I know for CERTAIN that mom and dad carries a pink eye gene, because 10 out of 16 babies had pink eyes. So something is up, and it's very, very exciting times!
I will know more about their color in one weeks time, and be absolute sure in about 6 weeks time when they change into their first adult coat as they come into puberty. The babies are, on this pic, 9½ days old.
There were 16 (!) babies in this litter, the first one from this female. 10 of them had pink eyes! :D And since daddy is black, all babies, no matter their color, they carry at least one black gene.
