Just in time for easter, I remembered of a (supposedly) very old baltic pagan cosmogonic myth, involving some sort of eternal serpent, guarding the cosmic egg that afterwards somehow cracked and the universe came into being.
I just like how these symbols work together. Maybe there's even ying/yang in this myth.
Egg is the symbol of life. The matter that life is made of. Potential energy, passive, essential, existence.
Serpent/snake is the symbol of vitality. It's movement, sometimes time (not much of a difference here), flowing, kinetic energy, it's not life, it's "living".
Makes sense combining the two, they're already inseparable.
Besides... Anyone notice a certain more contemporary symbolism?..
Saying that ancient cosmologies, cosmogonies & metaphysics are amazing is an understatement - people had some serious imagination back then.

I often feel bad for not fully grasping your descriptions. This series is incredibly deep and thoughtful, both in terms of presentation and the creative processes behind it. The metal texture is very realistic, and I'm surprised at how many colours have been worked into it. A thing of sublime beauty, this is.
