some context: Pipettes are balls expensive and the summer classes don't clean anything, so many of the 25mL volumetric pipettes sat with hard water in them for 2-3 months. We try to keep them clean as a pack of 12 of these are like $350 and that's a lot of money.
Ultrasonic bath: A special treatment we put some of our glass/metalware through when few other things seem to clean it. It uses ultrasound with a cleaning solvent (usually distilled water here) to make tiny cavitation bubbles to agitate the water and essentially push contaminants off of what needs to be cleaned.
Acid wash can be one of two things: either sat in a tub of weak acid (like acetic acid) or plunged with a bulb in a bottle of very concentrated strong acid (nitric acid, or HNO3, is what I use).
Isopropyl in this case refers to isopropyl alcohol/isopropanol. It smells like whiteboard markers.
Also that yellow plastic thing is a wash cradle. Pipettes sit in there and soak for 1-3 days, then sit in a rinse/distilled cradle for another day before drying.
anyway this happened on monday/yesterday

I somehow read that as "PEOPLE sit in there and soak for 1-3 days." XD But, given your classmates, I wouldn't be surprised. XD
