Sorry to point this out, but tau walk on digradle feet...

Tau are also blue-skinned humanoids, as I recall.

Our firewarrior here may be humanoid, but he's definitely not blue-skinned, and definitely not from the Tau Fire Caste.

That's what I was pointing out, duh. I never said it was supposed to be a Tau. I was saying he doesn't have to have digitigrade legs/feet because he isn't a Tau.

I mean that's like saying a Space Marine can't have digitigrade legs/feet because he's a Space Marine and they would normally be plantigrade, even though he might actually have the helmet off and be a wolf or who knows what else.

Actually I remember in a White Dwarf article, a fellow made some catguys as Tau auxillaries, made some human ones too. By the look of it I think he took the base Tau and putty to build them.

Actually, I think I know what you're talking about; Shas'el Tael is a person I see around the net and on Advanced Tau Tactica, (Also owns eastern-empire.com, his stuff's on there) and one of his creations was an auxiliary race called the She'ashi. Used a Cadian Torso & arms, Tau pulse rifle and waits/thighs, with converted Beastmen heads and feet.

wow, I figured that was a converted Tau head but seeing the side view I know that isn't so. These pics are much better than what was in the White Dwarf.

Heheh, yep; certain beastmen heads. Got almost all the bits I need coming my way, just need beastmen legs and I can try and re-create them.

I wonder if the tau lets other species use their Fire Caste orother caste's armors and tools when they "join" the alliance... "for the greater god"
because as far I see, the Kroot are very close allied, but no way they use armor or equipment by the Tau.

The Kroots are a different story, they prefer their own stuff with which they are familiar. A more advanced conscript would likely want access to Tau technology in exchange for their oath to serve 'The Greater Good.'

Well the kroots own equipment was heavily modified by the tau, their guns weren't much more than primitive muskets before the tau altered them to fire charged rounds, all of a sudden they can rival an imperial boltgun.

Also kroot shapers are occasionally gifted Pulse rifles/carbines and other weapons from the tau.

I actually made a wolf firearrior using SpaceWolves details/decorations and a Guardsman torso =3 once I get around to painting him I'll post it..I've also got a rat Chaos Terminator lord XP

I found the White Dwarf issue, was from Aug 2006, WD319, page 142. It's a short article on a guy's Tau army. I doubt I can get a scan of the catguy as the photo is just about in the gutter (the binder side).
