My favourite characters are usually the knights in oafish armor, the ones who are sappy and romantic and goofy. They are the butt of every joke, but as soon as there’s trouble they’re the first to put their lives on the line, in spite of any fears or misgivings, duty is the first order of business.

Manga has the same problem American comics have sometimes, editorial just won't let you end your series and move on to something else. There's only one thing you can do, quit or kill it. And thus we god the dumbest ending arc ever where Yusuke doesn't even win. Same thing with Bleach.
PS: Kuwabara is the most important member of the team and a 100% bro which is funny because in Hunter x Hunter the character that he's the most similar to is borderline useless.
