My beloved drew this for me, after I had a rough couple days. Government employees came onto my property with a backhoe, telling me they needed to widen the drainage ditch behind my property. they then proceeded to destroy my orange tree with their backhoe. This tree wasn't just a tree, it was a gift from my great grandmother the last time she was in Louisiana, and most likely that will be the last time she travels at all as she is now over 90. It was a fruit bearing tree, ten years old, and made such delicious oranges that you never would have believed it. Here my love and I stand, beneath the memory of it, and all it's beauty and the setting sun behind it, in keeping of it's memory and all the love that I had for it seems to be contained within both of us now.
