Good news: I finished a new tail! Bad news: my camera is broken :( Enjoy some grainy cell phone pictures until I get my camera repaired, or until a roommate with a better cell phone camera comes home. (Ignore how messy my room is, please! I kicked most of the dirty laundry out of the shot, at least.)
I wanted to try a new tail shape. This is more out-of-the-way than what I've made in the past, though it doesn't make any anatomical sense. Sitting in it is a little easier, but it gaps the back of my jeans a lot when I do. Putting it on takes a bit of practice, as I didn't leave a lot of wiggle room in the belt straps. It has a tiny bit of bounce to it, but is mostly pretty secure against my butt.
I initially was making this in grey, but I was unhappy with the paint job. I tried painting on these thick white stripes, but I had to slop the fabric paint on to the point of making it crunchy. Next time I'll have to applique fabric on to make big stripes. I went with the same colors that my PAX tail had, but opting for a black mohawk instead of blue. I added a white belly to protect the spandex from pilling up on the bottom, and to look cute. (Just the white belly and turquoise tail looked like a Dragonair cosplay! Oh dang I should make a Dragonair tail...)
Anywho, I've been thinking pretty seriously all week about opening up for a couple short tail commissions. I would limit shape choices to this tail and the short, low tail I've made a few times. (like these two or this one) I already have sock patterns drafted for them, and I have a good estimate of how long they take me to make. What do you guys think, am I ready?

Ohh snap! I just noticed it was thinner, I think the black fur on top definitely makes it look bigger. Gen 2 is best pokemon generation, and that's coming from someone who diehard played the first gen when it came out in America haha.
Hmm I want one of these but I'm pretty sure they will be a bit too short on a padded fullsuit, my Feraligatr would have an Agumon tail haha!

My tail is dino ... but furry ... And eventually I'd really like to get
one made for my belt loop... one that has a large circle base pretty much like what your making!
btw on this note... I absolutely adore your " A different kind of partial " submission with the shirt/ tail thing.
freaken adorable.
