I have had the fedex and the ups man BURY themselves out here so severly, they had to unload them, wait untill it dried out and come back to rescue it!

golly! Similar in my area, we needed moisture so bad, but come on, not all at once!

If I could send ya all the rain we have gotten here so far this year,I would. So far we have recorded almost 44 inches of rain to date. And yet we are short almost 2 inches for september. Weird huh?

I know, despite a 100 year rain fall, many parts of the state are still in severe drought status, though parts in the south and north have actually gone to non drought status for the first time in near 4 years! Neat, old farmers almanac did say it was going to be an unusually wet fall, and they were right.

Yup thats true, What else scares me is we here in the south coastal areas actually did not have a brutal summer. (days over 90 degrees were only seven compared to over 43 last year)
I too feel we are going to have an early cold winter because of all the water we already had so far. Well wait and see.

almanac also predicts a snowy winter, so I got my 4wd truck oiled up and ready...wish I had a genset though

I got rid of the 4wd.. Sold it to a friend. As for the generator, I have a 10kw gasoline gen set that will run everything I need. I have an outdooe shower that uses propane to heat water so if I need to shower in the snow.(Its enclosed with privacy lattice) I can go out there and shower as long as I want.

The only thing that bothers me with snow isnt snow, its ICE.. you cannot drive on ice without chains, even those are risque. You can only store on hand so much as for gasoline and etc.. so ice can be a problem. Evn here on the coast, we have had some nasty ice storms here.
