Working a drawing into a photo can be kinda difficult... normally when I do this, I have to have a lot of different photos to choose from and normally of that I'll pick 2-6 and start to sketch a form into them. Where I normally draw a form and then build a background in around it or draw a background which I can then alter slightly as needed, photos are very rigid and it's hard to make a picture that really fits in with the photo for me unless there is absolutely no interaction with the subjects of the photo.
So normally when I am working on making a drawing over a photo, I actually end up with 2-6 different pictures and only one will really make it past the sketching stage. The others just end up being dumped into sort of a physical study and never finished. My last picture with a photo background I think turned out really well, so I wanted to try it again, but I never really showed the bones sketches, or the pictures that just don't make the cut.
I sketch so much, but of the pictures I sketch so very, very few ever actually end up a finished product. Maybe I'll finish one of these sometime.
I wanted to do this because
shorty-antics-27 finished a new reference sheet for Pierce not long after I did my fanart of the character. On the sheet it mentioned him liking water and I already knew he lived in a forest habitat, and... well, the mountains and the falls are among my favorite things to photograph. I had plenty of photos to use and see if I could fit him into another physical photo I've taken.
All photos in this picture were turned to about 50% opacity or less to make the sketch lines more obvious. Some of these pictures had to be cropped a little to make them all fit together, but if I finish one I'll likely use the full-sized picture and not just what's seen here.
Welp, this has been a ramble.

I just took the photos and sketched him up, even though you can't tell too well who it is supposed to be at this point.
