The guitar melody was composed on my acoustic guitar than transferred to one of Goliath's guitars. This is one of my simpler arrangements using very few instruments and relying on the guitar to carry the melody. Some background info on the song: The Crossroads of Time is where fragments of time are all meshed together into one, each area tailored to a specific event to a specific soul intertwined with a powerful emotion. For Exias, he is thrown into a fragmented Dragon Graveyard, though it is not Ghaust who waits for him this time...

that is really, really beautiful. The start with the guitar makes me feel all weird inside, and the flute just summons up all the emotions within me. The base and choir add nicely to the texture. then the keychange changes the mood entirely for me, as if something is coming, and the bells and high choir make the tension really come out. My head keeps saying that at any moment a whole bunch of drums and orchestra is going to kick in, but it never does... The strings that come in soon make the tension release smoothly, and the ending overall is rather quiet. The first few seconds after the song had ended, I was thinking "What? It should go on for longer!", but a few seconds later, I realized that the ending was well called for, and that if it had been longer, it may have become boring for the audience. (I'm the kind of person who finds 40 minute long songs to play in the background of gaming. I don't do it when I'm critiquing, because I'm too busy typing!)
Well, being FelixB, I always have a bit of explosiveness in my songs, and I can never tell for myself if it actually makes them better. This song was focused on a single atmosphere, calm, serene, and peaceful. I was constantly awaiting a massive explosion of instruments, but this song shows the way that music doesn't have to make you excited, but rather, refreshing you peacefully.
When I listen to this song, I picture myself on top of a large cliff, looking down into a valley with several towns. There is some sort of bittersweet emotion in the scene, as if I am leaving those towns, journeying on. The, correct me if I'm wrong, G major makes the "color" of the atmosphere a very pale blue, with mist and clouds everywhere. It looks like just before dawn. Then the keychange to an... A major(?) makes a golden sun appear in the distance, making everything orange swirls of warm and cold at the same time. When the choir comes in, I can see myself turning away, preparing to leave the cliff edge, and the valley. Ahead of me is the whole world, and I imagine myself taking the first steps to seeing it. Then the song ends, just in tome for me to start walking.
I'm going to end this with the story idea, because it's what I really think would make your music awesome! Hearing this, I constantly wanted to understand more about what the song was about. I don't want to make you feel forced, but if you wrote a story, even if it was just a draft that no one saw, you could match up parts of it with parts of the song. That way, the song has purpose, and it will have multiple variations of itself throughout, making it really interesting to listen through. If you want, I can show you specifically what I mean by this.

The Crossroads of Time holds such significance beyond the meager description, for who actually takes time to look further than the play button? I should start that darkness lurks withing this place, though the area is neither a realm of light or darkness, but somewhere inbetween. Shortly before this, Exias has the life of his mate taken by Arkarium, whom he confronts and nearly loses his heart to (see song Friendship), if not for the interventions of his friends. He then learns her soul, being torn from her body in such a violent way, has yet to move on; she meanders through the Crossroads of Time. With both being dragons, Exias finds himself once more in the canyons of the Dragon Graveyard, though the valley is different than before. Here he must search for her, here he must face the darkness within his own heart, and here he must stand tall against Arkarium.
I also have a segment of the Crossroads of Time in a journal titled such. And show away dear friend, show away~
