Admittedly, I’d never openly comforted anyone before, but for him I supposed it wasn’t something that could be put off. The pain I’d seen in his eyes, I’d never seen before. I didn’t understand it, but I suddenly knew why he fought or at least part of the reason. Those words caused him pain probably aggravating old emotional wounds that had only half healed. I made him stand which was a bit difficult considering he was at least a full foot taller than me before leading him outside so we could be alone and he could get some fresh air. I wasn’t sure what his friend’s thought of the situation, but I didn’t care right now.
I sat down and pulled him with me. It didn’t take much coaxing for him to move close to me once more. I realized he was shaking and frowned as I hugged him once more and just sat there. I’d never seen him so vulnerable, but it seemed now was such a time he showed it. After about ten minutes, I felt him nuzzle into my chest and cling tighter before releasing and looking down at the ground. Suddenly noticing my shirt was slightly damp, I realized he must have been crying.
Welp there you go. Small snippet of their actual story to go with an absolutely lovely commission I got from
Battleguppy I am so glad they went with the story suggestion over the image reference. ^_^ Everything is just so perfect.
Btw that scene is quite awhile before they got together.
