I've decided to post this Easter-related 'fat furry' gag near Midnight in my part of the world (the Eastern Seaboard of the USA). This way, it will be most appropriate in its presentation, since it's almost the end of Easter Sunday in America, it's already Easter Monday in both New Zealand and Australia, and it's about to become Easter Monday in Canada - where the creator of the character in my drawing lives...

This is yet another image from a series of my original, one-of-a-kind, handmade greeting cards. This time, it comes in the form of a birthday card I'd 'snail-mailed' to Aldi, back in 2006. That year, his birthday in April was much closer to Easter, so I'd decided to combine the two big occasions into one spectacular greeting card...

On the cover of said card, I had drawn Rooby (the friend and feeder of Roofus), as she told my bobcat 'fursona' about a major bargain (of merchandise that was marked down 50-75% off) that she'd taken advantage of. She'd said to me, "I'd made quite a deal at the local discount store on 'post-Easter items', like jelly beans, chocolate bunnies, marshmallow PERPs..."

I had to interrupt the female marsupial's side of the conversation, to make a slight correction. "Excuse me, Rooby," I'd said, "but don't you mean marshmallow PEEPs?"

"Not after I'd fed Roofus A THOUSAND GROSS of them!" she replied.

As you can see, by the posted image, Roofus had been profusely stuffed with the soft, little, yellow sweet treats, to the point that he can't even burp. All the rotund 'roo can do is go "Perp! Perp! Perp!"

Since this was originally a birthday card for Aldi, the message inside - with this image - read "Happy Birthday (and all that stuff)!" The image itself was decorated with colored pencils... back then.

For this updated presentation, I'd taken a black-and-white photocopied version of the inside image, added new color to it, and electronically edited out the birthday message (and Rooby's closing comment), leaving me with some extra room for a few more "Perps" for Roofus to utter. =OQ|
