For those who don't know, I like a good beer. And by good beer, I mean good beer. What can beat a nice roasty stout in Winter? Or a tart Berliner Weisse in Summer? Perhaps a nice Pumpkin Ale in the Fall. I used to be more of a hop head, which surprised my brother because he didn't expect me to like very hoppy beers much, but I enjoy them. Lately though, been getting much more into fruity and tart beers. Lord, I would love a Festina Peche from Dogfish Head round about now. Been craving one all summer. However, Java Stouts hold a special place in my heart.

For one, Bell's Java Stout was the first full beer I ever had as opposed to just tasting. And second, it was also the beer where I really noticed a flavor other than just generic "bitter". And from that point forward, I loved a good beer and finding what flavors I could pick out. And the third reason this kind of beer is special for me is because my brother I sometimes brew our own beer. One of the beers we made was a java stout that we called "American Breakfast". We even submitted it to a regional competition in South Florida and won third place for our category. That means we can make award winning beer! So, in the following weeks, when I finally turn 21, I'm gonna be sure that the Java Stout will be my first legally obtained beer in the states.

So, as you can tell, I consider the appreciation of a good beer to be a big part of who I am, and I really wanted to have a picture of my character appreciating beer as well. After all, he's essentially me, just as a cheetah. I got my chance a few months ago when Thanshuhai opened up for commissions, and I grabbed a headshot commission. Been admiring his art for a good while by that point, so I was excited to have gotten a slot. By the way, if you don't already watch his art, go watch his art. He's really good, I think.

Anyways, headshot commission. Figured it would be perfect to commission Than to draw up my character with a Java Stout. I mean, Than is the Coffee Fennec. Java Stout has coffee in it. So...you know...oh nevermind, it made sense to me.

Needless to say, the commission turned out excellent. Never had my character looking so happy, I think. Look at him, he's got a nice glass of beer in his hand. Or is hand-paw a better term? More like a paw-like hand, I think. Anyways, I digress. Of all the commissions of my character (or even counting the pictures I made myself) I think this one reflects my personality the best, and it does it so well, and that's why I absolutely love it. Even love it beyond the fact that he managed to make my character look all nice and fluffy. Beer makes me fluffy, I suppose, heh. Like I said, Than is an awesome artist.
