Moderate Painterly Commission for

So here we have Sammy exercising his control over light and fire wisps, and obviously floating around in space to boot (he is magical after all!) Sammy gave me a ton of artistic freedom on this one, even letting me pick the subject ("Magic Practice") out of a list he had which was awesome for me.
I FINALLY experimented with switching the image to grayscale temporarily halfway through drawing this, just to do a value check and see how my lights and darks were looking. HOLY BALLS! Why was I not doing that earlier!? It instantly allowed me to see what needed darkening and what needed lightening, and I think made this piece more eye-catching than it would have been otherwise. Definitely going to do that more in the future!
Ah well, always learning! I hope you guys like this one, I sure do. ^.^
