I was playing the latest installment of WH40K: Dawn of War the other night, and on a whim I pulled up the army painter and decided I'd do some sketches of the orks. A pity it only shows the two, but I still picked up some valuable pointers on drawing the little buggers.
Case in point, I had no idea they had such ginormous ears. Or that their piggy little noses were planted directly between their beady little eyes. Or that their shoulders were actually higher than their heads.
Having learned these things, I can now more accurately depict angry orks.

Y'know, it's ironic, since my mate started playing through Dawn of War himself starting a week or so ago... so now I finally know what the hell that whole 'WAAARGH!' thing is now. Also, the Orks have to be the most hilarious RTS faction to play ever. :p

I love Dawn of War, I play it all the time! And I much enjoyed this drawing, cause it really does look like one of the orks from the warhammer universe. Maybe leaning a bit more towards Warhammer Fantasy.
Anyway, its awesome in my oppinion, and I suppose you play the orcs alot? And also, do you have Soulstorm? Cause I don't, is it worth buying in that case? :)

I find the orks to be quite fun, but my boyfriend finds them irritating, for some reason. He doesn't like the slapstick humor that they bring into an otherwise dark background.
I do have Soulstorm, and it's fun, although I confess I have not played it much. It has some problems, namely that it takes eons to load a map or load back to the campaign screen (at least on my computer).
Also, unlike in Dark Crusade, where any structures you built during a battle remained in the map when someone tried to take the province from you, in Soulstorm you have to start over from scratch unless you've shelled out the planetary requisition to purchase the handfull of buildings that they allow you to reenforce your territory with.
So, sometimes, taking the time to build up a whole base is pointless if you can manage to take out your opponents quickly.
That being said, the Adeptas Soritas are fun to play. They have much longer range flamethrowers than anyone else. There is much purgation with flame.

Wow... that really blows. Cause I usualy put out LOADS of extra time to build up my bases on the maps to win as fast as possible. But hearing that... wow, that blows. And about the loading time, I think Dark Crusade is pretty slow already when you do Skirmish.
We should play sometime, Im not great online, I tend to take my time and not rush but it would be fun. Have no one to play with. My brothers friends play it sometimes but they sadly dont feel like playing with me, only with my little brother.
Had a clan once, but it didnt go too far Im afraid. Very enjoyable game though, downloading the expansion at the moment. Dont have the cash to go buy it at the moment. :(
