It's coming on to Halloween season, so it's that time when I want to make some creepy things. This mask is ornamented with a bookbinding stitch called caterpillar stitch, which really looks much more like centipedes. So yay for creepy bugs crawling all over your face!
I'll post this up to Etsy once I have a chance to get some photos of it being worn. It'll be $50. (If someone wants it now, though. feel free to note me.)

I'm pretty sure this is the tutorial I went by that made the most sense: http://www.canberrabookbinders.org......aterpillar.pdf The first number of steps of the tutorial deal with starting the stitch, which is a weird operation, but once it's underway it continues nicely. Basically I think of it as an extravagant variant on a Coptic binding stitch.
I may have taken some liberties and made some adjustments to fit what I was doing. Especially the beginning and finish I think I wildly ad-lib-ed to make them look even more insect-like.
