Multiply isn't an option...
It has darken, lighten, and some others I don't remember as mixing options...
I can paint in black, but the result is black...
It has an airbrush, but not a very good one...
Areas can be selected by color, to pick a region of color or inside some lines, but other than that area selection is limited...

That will probably be good enough for good quality shading.
Start with a scan of your colored drawing. You can use a JPG, but if your scanner can produce a PNG type file and your Photodelux can read it, that would be slightly better.
Over the base layer containing your colored art, create a second layer in the Darken mode.
Select part of the body of the character.
Set your paint to pure black.
Set your soft airbrush opacity to 80% (if there is no opacity seting, don't worry about it).
Set the airbrush flow rate to about 2%.
Set the airbrush diameter to about 1/4 the diameter of the part of the character that you are working on.
Go over the character repeatedly along the edges and in the other areas that you want shading until the shading builds up to the density that you want.
