I originally drew this during a very stressful day at school, and it turned out better than I expected. The digital inking and coloring has removed the original pencil shading that made it so special to me, but it's still not too bad.
One of these days I'll get around to adding proper backgrounds...

It was a pencil sketch, I doubt it scanned very well. I was rather proud of the shading, though. I've found most of my hand-drawn stuff has to be retraced digitally to look decent. I probably have the original scan lying around on an old backup. I ought to add it to scraps, I suppose.
I need to do more expression pics. Hell, I need to do more pics in general, but I think the expression pics were the result of a far more stressful(at least, mentally stressful) time in my life, which made the process of drawing almost relaxing by comparison. Perhaps I would be more inclined to draw them if I went back for a graduate degree.

I see what you mean. Unfortunately scanning penciled art or anything pencil wise can be tricky and they just don't come out right at all. It takes a lot of fine tuning and rage-clicks to get it remotely looking like the original. I tried scanning some sketches a friend of mine drew...if I recall correctly I raged. Probably came close to throwing the scanner into orbit too.
Well in a lot of ways it is a form of therapy. Hahaha! I don't think throwing yourself into stressful situations is a good idea to get art out of it. =P
Hmmm...there was something I wanted to add to this...my brain's still in gaming mode.
