They look heavy

Hmm, i'm really not sure how heavy the are. I know that they were a set of wings that were built by one of the people that pioneered that type of wing in costumes. ... And I feel kinda' sad right now that I can't remember his name, because we used to talk a lot. He was a gryphon, but I can't remember his name... damn. It was years and years ago. It's crazy where the time goes when you're busy just trying to live.

WHOA, where did you come cross this ancient picture? hehe what, FC 2001? The wings are pneumatic and weight about 18lbs. They are balanged on the shoulders with a type of backpack, so they don't strain the body.

Remember back at AC'01? Down in the big hall across from the room where the dances were being held. Where they had the registration stuff set up down by the outside enterence. If I remember right, it was in the afternoon, on Saturday.

Wow, I need to get out and shoot more cons. when I remember a particular event with this much clarity, it's s sign I don't get out much.

Yeah, it helped a lot that she was willing to pose, and that there weren't a lot of people in the hall. That was the hardest thing, trying to make sure that there was room to get that shot. Unfolded, those wings are like 12 + feet across.

I navigate doorways just fine. But do sometimes manage to run into just about everything at some point. LOL But she didn't have any trouble getting through doors or anything either, as the wings fold down to about same width as she was. :)
