Both, actually.
I started writing the story and designing characters back in 2009. Having Daws lose his job and move in seemed like an authentic way to start the story and get things going.
Then today, I was told my job was gone. So as I was driving home, feeling pissed, I thought about how similar our situations were--especially with me trying to go to community college and all. So it sorta had me thinking about the project all over....
