Birthday present for lemoneewonder (Deviantart)! She requested this back in the summer for her birthday this year, inspired by art by mazzlebee (deviantart) and dyemooch (deviantart) that I had shown her. I couldn't replicate either of those exactly with how I sculpt, (the tiny wee legs on mazzlebee's art alone would have made stability very difficult to impossible), so I went for somewhere in between the two, with some added details from how Alex Milne draws him in IDW's More Than Meets the Eye. Not nearly as much detail as that, obviously- he's too wee for that to be anything but an exercise in frustration. All in all, he's one of the biggest things I have ever made, and by far the most complicated.

Magnus has a full skeleton fleshed out with tin foil under there, and was sculpted with a few different colours of sculpey and painted to tidy him up, brighten his whole look, and draw attention to sculpted detail. I might have to make myself a Drift or Tailgate now, it was hard giving him up!
