this is the 2013 dove chick Midori, now one month old [sex still unknown]. not pure white dove (his father was an Orange Dove) how every some of his back & wing feathers are turning light pink. ALSO! he has a few rows of invisible striped tail-feathers. how unexpected! Incredibly tame for a dove, loves human interaction, & enjoys pets/tickles/finger preening. Cant coo just yet!

While still at a very young age, the other doves had already laid a new batch of eggs & had stopped feeding him... most of the time. i would even remove the highest perch or put the mothers down next to him to say "hey woman, feed yo baby"! sometimes they would feed but not very much. so ive been hand feeding/caring for Midori 2-3x a day, teaching him how to peck & drink- to take care of himself. Some funny moments when Midori would try to DRINK his seeds! LOL silly dove! Making sure that he flaps his wings a lot to build up his strength for flight since all the other doves ignore him & he is isolated & alone most of the time. Poor booboo. :< But i make sure to give him attention daily & extra love & tickles!
