This one was a commission for a friend and fellow mod on a Christian forum I'm on. The work as it is now has a bit more to it than this--but I'm not uploading the background version since the photo used belonged to the commissioner and not me. (Although he himself does consider his photo public domain, if I'm not mistaken.) Plus the commissioner did some simple editing after I sent the PSD files to him upon his request. He wanted to use it as a signature image and has more experience with making signature images than I do.


There is some symbolism behind the general idea here--I'm not too great at explaining it myself, but the idea they had is something like the hand is like the Holy Spirit guiding the bird (child of God) in flight. The hand not being gloved and there not being any straps on the bird's feet are also part of the symbolism, a close connection with the trainer where straps are not needed and the bird's talons do no harm the trainer's hand.
