my brother has a 115 year old Mosine Nagant that was used during the Winter War between Russian and Finland. The Fins stripped it, and reworked it into one of the worlds premier sniper weapons for over 100 years.
The Enfield is a VERY nice rifle. right up there with th 8mm Mauser, and the Mosin Nagant. and the Enfield you have there (your dad's) is a very nice example of such a fine rifle.
personally, I prefer something slightly newer, but only because I insist on every weapon I own being a "Daily shooter"
like my original 1970's Colt Combat Commander, my 1858 Remington New Army Revolver (repo), and my .50cal black powder sidelock musket.

lol We do rifle drill with those ^^ Heavy things made into DP - Drill Purpose - standard, I think we have 8 or so of them in our armoury =3
We used to have a coule next to the standard during public parades too; the things became SOB's when you had to stand there with it digging into your left shoulder blade XP For about 2 hours for rememberance sunday XD
Nice ^^
