Johnathan Pennyfare is in the prime of his life. Young and well-to-do, he's fighting to find his place in rural Sussex as England is caught in the throws of the Industrial Revolution. Good thing he has the love of beautiful Emma Talbot to ground him. Their names will be on everybody's lips once he proposes to her at tonight's social.
He has only a single task before leaving for the manor house. Some newfangled scientist is seeking his patronage. Unbeknownst to Johnathan, the frightful Doctor Robenson is more frantic for funds than he appears. In an effort to ensure Johnathan's support Robenson infects him with his latest invention, an elixir made from the great British symbol, the lion. Johnathan must now support the foul man if he hopes to find a cure.
Now not only must Johnathan dance the intricate social ritual of marrying good Miss. Talbot, but also hide the physical changes as he slowly transforms into something that would be better seen in a freak show.
Things always look brightest before the storm...

Well I wonder who pulled young Master Pennyfare out of murky depths, and how long they plan on lion around on the banking with him? Who ever the person is was very correct though, it was a dam silly thing to do.
A very nice chapter my good Sir, though I would have loved to see the good doctor fall victim to one of his creations rather than simply being shot down like the rabid animal he was.

I may have to paws for a moment in the next chapter to explain who it was that saved him...
I felt a bit bad just killing off the Doctor like that, but I wanted to make sure there was no chance of Johnathan changing back. He's a lion all the way now...

I'm sure that the local Human Society will have a roaring good time as they celebrated the Doctors demise. But we should still ensure that we concentrate on the mane characters and how life has changed and also remained the same for them. That is as long as young Master Pennyfares pride doesn't get in the way again.
But in the end I'm sure he and Emma will be happy, even if they have to claw their way back to the top.

Well, this is... interesting. Jonathon is being damn silly, though I do get his panic. Can't wait to see if the rescuer is Manson (who it sounds like), Emma, or someone else.
Also, lions and other cats sweat exclusively through their paw pads. Just so you know XD

Yep, you'll find out who it was soon enough...
You're totally right about the sweating. That's the way I did it for Tommy in The Hunters, but I ended up dropping it as it just didn't 'feel' right. Good eye pointing it out though!
