I just thought I would share a page from my writing notebook. This is for a new project, dealing with how an anthropomorphic cat race would speak. Hopefully, I can start building a language for them soon.

Alright, first before you post a picture right correctly, it also is beneficial to type up your notes.
Now, you have the right idea of thinking about linguistics. Yes, any anthropomorphic species without some techno device or physic telekinesis is going to sound different. Linguistics however is very hard to grasp as it is part cultural, part biological, and part psychology. My advice is if you want to do hard linguistics (coming up with a language or at least a way for these cat people to speak), then prepare a word document to keep these all in mind and flesh them out. Then work on the language. Make sure you research your actually cat and human throat and mouth anatomy.
Make sure you actually do understand this. I highly recommend George Yules, “The Study of Language,” for this is the best for explaining difficult linguistic concepts and avoids the anthropological bitchfests completely.
Good luck.

Yeah, I'm not sure why it decided to rotate it 90 degrees. The picture itself was right-side up. That being said, were my notes legible?
I've already begun doing research on how these creatures might speak, and just how many human features I would need to add for them to be capable of language. It is great fun.

Yes, your penmenship is legible, but it may be hard for people to read. For that reason its better to type your notes. When you do researsh, don't just splat around google and wikipedia. Try to find scholarly sources, sadly most data bases are not free. Google Scholar is a ncie direction in that regard however.
