I recently posted some photos of prototypes of a spade tip for my tails, and this is the finished commission that those were for. I think it came out really well, and I'm really happy to have finally done this. It was something that I'd wanted to do for a long time, and I'm glad that this commissioner asked about it and was willing to let me experiment on it. I'll be putting this on my ordering guide as an official option shortly.

The tail here is anodized aluminum (red) with a stainless steel underbelly (which isn't visible from this angle), and a few large dragon claw spikes down the spine. The spade tip is made of leather which I cut with a laser cutter, stained red, sewed together, and sealed with a matte leather finish. This tail is a bit shorter than my default length; it measures 28 inches long, or 30 inches including the spade tip.

It's striking me now that with the shape of the spade tip, and the spikes, and the red color, this looks like it could be a tail for a devil or demon.
