It's cute, but just one thing. If you hadn't of said it was a fox, I would've 100% thought it was a ginger cat. I don't see any mother markings that give it indication that it's a fox otherwise than you saying it is. Don't take that too personally though, it's just an observation.

I honestly don't see it hun, that fox has markings and I really REALLY don't mean to take the peepee here, but I thought it was an orange cat until my friend told me it was an angry Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog. ;_;

On a critique level if you would find it helpful...

Honestly, I'm not trying to be rude or diss the piece, on it's own I think it's wonderful. I love it. But it really doesn't look like a fox. The ears especially are very cat-like, the pigeon-toed stance is very common amongst anime cat-figures and there's no markings whatsoever that make it out to be a fox without you describing him to be.

My big tip would be to give him markings, try and edge away from your usual adopted style of anime art but intergrate it to be your own style. The very short snout and huge eyes is very anime like and although it may be your style, try to experiment a bit. I think he's a great character otherwise.

I'ld shorten the ears a bit too, to make them less cat-like, it's completley up to you though.

I hope I helped a bit though *hugs*.

Makeing all those changes would result in a totaly different character though O_o; Too be honest... wheather it looks like a fox or not I still like the design of it o_o I will your advice however if I ever plan on making another fox character ^_^ Thank you for you insightful imput

It'ld be awesome to see more fox designs by you, you took the critique well here. The below respnse howerver is quite immature.

C= And can I say this... how dare you accuse me of having an 'adopted' anime style, when all you draw is things with pointy eye lashes sticking out everywhere and an aime style that was last seen on screens in the late 90's o_O; Honestly... what I have done, or at least I believe I have is taking my adaptation of anime style and got it to match what I do best...

Oh and another thing, you really shouldn't crit the chracter design... I mean really... can you tell me anything that is artisticly wrong with it? I mean you don't write into the television station saying "Dear sir/madam, I dislike roadrunner because he doesn't look like a roadrunner" Or... "Dear sir/madam Lola bunny is the wrong colour, please change immidiently!"

I mean honestly... Look around this website... and you will notice that NOONE on this website aim's for reality, not even yourself... O_o; I mean I don't mind crits... but only artistic ones...>_<;

I read as far as "how dare you..." and knew that you'ld go off the deep end.

You don't take critique very well do you? Even when someone is being as nice as pie, I'ld check into that.

Also, thanks for critiqing harshly on work that was done way back in 2001. Instead of jumping to conclusions, next time I suggest you look at the actual piece and take note of the signature and date. From the sounds of it, you didn't "look" you just glanced over the art and assumed that what I put up is the work I'm doing recently.

If all you want is praise for your work, then fine. I think you have a fair amount of praise here and how many times did I say I liked it, I'ld coun't nearly half a dozen times.

Your character doesn't look like a fox, that's the only thing wrong with it. If it didn't have the cheek ruffs a'la Tails from Sonic The Hedgehog, it's not instantly recognisable as anything else but an orange cat.

I'm not saying it's bad, I'm merely saying that you're in no poistion to say anything about anime influenced art when you are using a style that looks like it's been taken directly from a "how to draw manga book".(or atleast did, Is all your gallery old work?)

Saying something looks to anime based is a pretty invaild comment aswell.. there is so much variation in anime style.
Just for yourself do a google image search and compare One Piece to say something like Death Note.

I can take artistic crit very well (eg. Linework,Shading the likes)

But if you have a problem with my style fine enough you have the right to not like it, But telling me to change I'll just simply say.. nothnxbai.

And I'll go back to my previous statement, It's a cartoon.. it doesn't have to be a fox down to every last detail. I've had a crap load of comments on him.. Untill now I have not had a single person not been able to tell what it is.

This is just like me going on your page commenting on the art you done in 2001 and causing a fuss cause you done a fox that has human shaped breasts.. if everyone on this website caused a fuss about what parts and colours the "real" animals should and shouldn't have this place would crash due to the traffic.
