This is one for my book and for me.

Skupples a human genetic construct, the first bio engineered pet, smart cuddly and loves to make it's owner smile.

Skupples later gave Humans the experience needed to create DogBoys or Canids bred for war and later absorbed into society as a brother race but always the lesser.
