*huge* thanks goes to
carlito for fixing up the dialogue and making it awesome.
Epic comic...is epic.
(P.S., Rayon used Spark and, yes, it worked -- Nigel's paralyzed...though he's not going to let that stop him from getting his message through!)

Hm.. it's such an "out there" thing that you'd almost have to just pause and enter "wtf?" mode.. But I would say either decking him and shouting expletives as vjohnson said, or taking it as a "fight's over, you win" statement and backing off. After all the demand was to "treat her right because you're a better man than me". That whole "setting your arm on fire" thing, well, in context that's kind of your normal day's event...
Don't worry, getting surprised by Nigel's rebuttal was what i was aiming for.
The way I see it...whether he likes to admit it or not, Nigel is a Gardevoir. By nature, Gardevoir are emphatic beings that don't think twice about sacrificing themselves in the name of those they care for. And while Nigel has managed to subvert most of the Gardevoir stereotypes, that particular instinct is too strong a one for even him to avoid. If sacrificing his own wishes for the sake of making Charla happy is what has to be done...so be it.

Axel: This is so touching
Alexander: To touching for me to take.
Axel: Whaaa! When were you next to me!?
Alexander: I was right beside you since the match. Arceus, what an idiot.
Axel: I heard that!
Alexander: You want to say something about it then! *evil glare*
Axel: Uh, no thanks.
