What you see in this picture is the bottom jaw of a giant liger I am building for a client. The wood used is red wood for maximum strength as-well as metal straps for extra strength. The wood may look flat but I actually sanded the top where the gums would sit in a circular fashion, so IT IS NOT FLAT! lol :) I also laid flexible lining foam over the wood so that the fleshy rubber could sit nice and firm on the wood, and have a more squishy feel to it, rather than a hard woody feel. :)
