Sylariel /should/ have his twilight drake under complete mind control, but doing so to something with such ancient power means that as the drake matures the magic begins to weaken. It seems that the drake, even slightly awakened and aware of his situation - has decided that the young elf must belong to him. Of course being in a basement thousands of miles in the forest doesn't leave Syl with much option but panic.
After my last submission I suddenly got the incredibly harsh need for some dragon fun. Of course my "Come Inside" submission aaages ago had me wanting to continue it as a short series. Miiight color them at a later date but we'll see about that - depends on if I get all my commissions finished by then.
ANYWAY - not sure what exact direction to take (Suggestions are always welcome I guess - I was thinking of taking it a few directions but now I'm questioning myself.)

Well, I can provide a bit of background. Twilight drakes being /mainly/ experimented dragons means they have a variety of mental... health. Sylariel more or less worked for the cult that was in charge of creating them, and kept one of the eggs for himself, knowing full well how dangerous the dragon would be. (Of course Syl being Syl he cared more about having a big scary guard-dog to sick on people than any kind of companion.) Syl's more or less a power freak in this sense, he isn't all very threatening being a short, skinny elf (all his damn teeth got punched out by a troll at one point, he replaced them with metal ones in hopes of scaring people off from doing this, so far people just think he's diddly damn nuts.) However there was the tinnny problem that at the time his little twilight cult was beginning to break apart and nearly all of the drakes were being killed on sight by other dragons.
SO there's no one really available to really keep the drake under control/teach it once it hatches. That's all really left up to Syl to do. However he doesn't quite see the point in wasting his time teaching the dragon when he can just fiddle with its mind until its completely obedient. He had every intention of killing it when it got too large for his magic to control, but he honestly didn't expect it to show signs of having its own thoughts behind the solid working of magical control. Now to say the drake isn't... incredibly intelligent due to the severe lack of being allowed its own brain functions. If anything he'd have the mental capacity of an ape or maybe a very yooung person.
Now twilight drakes siphon everything they need from magical items since their bodies are pumping with nether energy and a bunch of other shite. This means feeding it everything from enchanted weapons to mana potions to "magical" creatures. I've had the idea that perhaps since they want /just/ magic that creatures arn't usually digested in the normal sense, but siphoned until there's no magic left to extract. Of course for some creatures this would me disintegration as they're absorbed. For an elf... I'm somewhat aware on the issues involving having no magic for a long period of time (wretched), but I'm not sure of just temporary loss.
