I've finally determined a name for this little skunk! Name's "Ambrose". Or "A.B." for short. Or if you want to annoy him, "Abby". Named after "Ambrose Burnside" for obvious reasons.
A.B.'s been in some desperate need of attention, since the only thing I have of him was the original character design I commissioned back at AC, and I don't want him to become a forgotten character. I've been crafting a bit of a backstory and history for him, because I really do like having him as a character, and it would be a complete disservice to have him lost amongst all the pictures I have of my fursona. Therefor, Vekke's Fall Commissions were the perfect opportunity for him.
This is part two of the fall commissions I got from Vekke, and in fact, it was this idea that made me really want to commission her in the first place. For one, I figured that the character would look brilliant in her style, and he does. Two, A.B.'s fur colors are pretty much Fall colors, so I figured he'd look brilliant in a Fall themed picture. Three, Vekke makes awesome Fall pictures, and I don't think I can say that enough. And four, I consider A.B. to be a very down to earth and "folksy", and so I tend to associate that will Fall.
In other words, everything just screamed that I had to get picture from Vekke of A.B. playing his banjo and enjoying the Fall. So I did. And it's awesome. Picture came out pretty much like how I hoped it would. Made me very happy. Best part is, Fable, who was the artist I commissioned to design the character, liked how the picture turned out. Made me super happy. I was all like "Yes! I know how to commission artists good!" It's small successes like that that make me happy.
Anyways, with awesome art, I shall leave you with awesome music. For the folksy mood, I totally recommend the album The Family Tree: The Roots by Radical Face, but specifically the song Always Gold. In fact, I think I might have been listening to that album as I was thinking of this picture.
