It is a known meme that "honey badger don't care" but this one did. Victim of a freak accident on the old company she worked for, she decided to become a poster child for those small workers seeking to legally opose large companies, and with her newfound recklesness to hold up under the legal pressure of corporative threats, she would come to prove that by caring too much she would become the embodiment of the meme and would become a popular poster child of worker syndicates all over the world, because yes, honey badger cares!
She was an unremarkable pro soccer player, determined to be in top physical condition. Her body started feeling strange one day after she had started drinking a new brand of protein shakes, but she determined to keep going, working and exercising it off. A few weeks later, as word of the drink spread and the shake company had a massive lawsuit on its hands, she singlehandedly won an impossible game using her powerful new body. Now, she's a famous pro athlete and spokeswoman for one of the world's leading brands of animal-enhancement shakes.
All I can think of for her is that she's been having bad luck for a while and it became worse when aliens from an alternate reality mistake her for one of their own. Thinking she's in human disguise they decided to try to "change her back to normal" when she's finally alone when the transformation is done they were about to grab her when the real badger girl appeared just saying she just finished taking a long shower to her alien friends. Not wanting to admit their mistake they turned off the screen on the transformed girl and became a secret for these aliens ever since. That is until a few months later the badger girl found out about her friends' mistakes and she went back to this world to fix it. She explained to her double about her friends mistakes and offered to change her back to normal, but surprisingly this girl's luck has turned around ever since her transformation. Sure it was bad at first being "the animal girl" for a while, but it slowly changed when she started getting lucky stuff like winning a small raffle, saving some of the school's clubs from going away, and she has gained a couple of true friends. As much as she liked to believed that most of her good luck is from her transformation, she decided to take the badger girl's offer of changing back to normal, because she realized that her luck has gotten better once she gained confidence in herself. It's just kind of strange and funny that turning into an anthro badger is just the push she needed to gain confidence in herself.
having losted a bid to see who can do the fastest speed run of sonic 06 she going in to a spling clinic to become a honey badger for a month so after going thought treatmant to become an antho badger. shes enbaristed about being a "walking meme" and one of the "spliser freaks" that are growing from the furry fandom but grows to like it and even takes the hole "honey badger dont care" meme as her own becoming a internet star overnight
Seera is a lower member of the House of Naressa, a religious sect within the coastal capital city of Khaimar. The House of Naressa worships the goddess of the same name, who is said to preside over the entirety of the seas and rivers of their land. However, in recent decades the house itself has become rather corrupt, with members seeking to obtain some of the goddess' powers through increasingly dangerous and horrible rituals.
Though, much of this isn't known by those in the lower ranks of the House and the sister's there are generally content to go about their days believing that their religion is more innocent than it really is.
Seera, however, is one of the unfortunate few to be chosen by the main Maidens and Masters (the priestesses and priests that run the House) as a girl that was innocent and transparent enough to be used as a sacrifice for their highest governing authority, Master Irving.
He makes plans to have the girl taken from the dormitories late one evening but, somehow, word manages to trickle through the ranks. A middle-ranking sister discovers the plot and, as she knows Seera and genuinely feels for the girl, she manages to convince her to run else she'll be killed.
Seera isn't sure what to think, as she feels that all of this must be a mistake, but knows the sister would never lie to her and so takes her advice and manages to get out of the city before she can be captured and taken a way. She is chases for hours and manages to elude them for a long time as she'd gotten at least a couple of hours on them before they discovered that she was missing and managed to pick up her trail, but she is on foot and not very fast and so it isn't long before they begin to catch up to her.
On the way, Seera stops to aid a badger caught in a hunter's trap and when the creature is freed it runs off. As she goes to leave the spot, however, she is struck with an arrow from one of those hunting her. They hoped to merely strike a crippling blow to her but, as they reach her body crumpled on the forest floor, they realize that the girl has been fatally wounded and will likely die soon enough.
So, they leave here there to her end and start on their way back to the city to give the bad news to Irving (who is likely to just choose another sister as a sacrifice in her place).
As Seera lay there alone, taking her last breaths and cursing her terrible fate, the badger she saved suddenly returns. It stalks close to her and, after inspecting her for some time, curls up beside her and rests its head on her forehead as her eyes slowly close.
Hours later, Seera suddenly awakes, gasping for breath. Somehow, she is alive and, after inspecting herself, finds the arrow, and the wound, gone, with the lifeless body of the badger at her side. She is confused and somehow regains her composure enough to leave that place and head for the nearest city from Khaimar.
But, on the way, she begins to hear things. A voice, speaking to her. Short phrases at first.
"Poison" when she goes to pick a berry she has never seen but wants to eat.
"There's a cliff" when she wanders too close to a thicket on her way down a steep hill.
"Safe cave east" as nightfall approaches.
And then longer ones.
"Can't you walk any faster?"
"No wonder they almost killed you. You're a weakling even for a two-legs."
"You should be lucky to share the same body as me."
Over time, the voice grows stronger, tells her more. The badger she saved earlier was actually one of the many Spirits of that forest put there by Malor, the God of the Wilds. In fact, it is the forest's spirit of the Hunt itself, a patron for hunters and rangers. If she had not saved it, it likely would have just passed on to the body of another beast. But, when it saw her dying it felt bad for her and decided that it would spare her.
And bless her with the thrill of the Hunt.
"Why?" Seera asks. "I am no hunter."
"But you have those that need hunting." the spirit replies.
A few things of note:
Seera is about 17 years old. She's not a fighter by any means. When she transforms, it is actually the spirit of the hunt taking over her body and taking over as the dominant host while Seera's consciousness is pushed to the back of its mind. When she is in her normal form as a human, it is reversed: Seera has control of her body and the spirit is a voice in her head.
Additionally, the Spirit is rather arrogant. He refers to humans as 'two-legs' and constantly speaks to Seera as if she is his minion. At first, he thinks of her as a bother and is helping her mostly because it is a way to fulfill his desire for the hunt. When transformed, he is terribly vocal about the fact that he is a spirit for the god Malor and doesn't really give a damn when people give him looks, even when Seera begs him not to do things like that. He has no concept of modesty and it tends to get them into altercations...but he generally can get them out of them by simply beating the crap out of whoever seems to have a problem with him.
Another thing that Seera doesn't like, being that she doesn't really like violence. XD But: over time she understands that Irving needs to die. He's doing horrible things and he's actually angering Naressa, which is totally bad because it could bring about some horrible sea-goddess wrath. She eventually understands that he needs to die, and that she will need to be the one to kill him.
And, the spirit does eventually begin to respect Naressa more. She's young and naive, but at least sensible and does listen to reason, and she has a strong moral code. :)
Oh. And the spirit doesn't have a name. She names him. I just dunno what that is.
