FBA 2013 Draft Candidate - Renee Fiora
Biography:
"Renee was the only girl out of a family with three boys. Due to this Renee often was a tomboy just to fit in with the "boys" and their friends. Growing up, she gained her rudimentary skills in basketball at home playing with the boys, and in the school yard after school. Overall she developed an affinity in sports, including youth football and Soccer but her strengths and hard headed determination helping her greatly in pushing herself further, harder, faster than others in most sports. She even eventually started to surpass her older siblings in their own sports. However, her true love of Basketball hadn't quite bloomed until High School Varsity.
During Varsity she played her hardest yet, working hard to bring up their team through the ranks to get to the championships. As a small forward she played hard and threw her weight around as part of the team, helping open up options as well as scoring as she could. Recruiters eventually brought her in on a basketball scholarship at Canis Lupis (and while there she took up a position in the nursing program in order to help others, something she was always passionate about). Even at that level, she found that there was still much for her to learn. She worked long and hard at her shooting game and still roll with the blows that come with defense. However she was good and filled her positioning well with the team. Her love for the sport helping to keep her motivated and constantly working to improve herself as well as her team. Even as a senior she dreamed of having a chance at the professional ranks, and worked hard to try and become good enough to be considered a potential candidate for the FBA draft, even then she still had a nursing degree to work with if she needed to. Towards the end of her game she grew much stronger in her shooting game than she had in the past, growing much more consistent, with two point shots, and a little stronger in the longer three point range.
Even with this improvement among several others, she managed to gain the attention of Akkarri offering to work with her as an agent to help bring her to a chance at her dream of playing for the FBA. Soon they were good friends, and working well with each other to get the gears going on her dreams. Akkarri seemed to enjoy seeing how Renee improved with time, and would ponder just how much more she would improve if she managed to get into the professional ranks.
Renee earned her nickname of "Fizz" was her bubbly attitude and personality off the court. However she could earn much more colorful nicknames with how she can be on the sidelines. It use to annoy her, but even now, she had learned to not let it bother her and learned to actually enjoy being called something like that, even if it flew in the face of her tomboy side."

Great speed and intensity in this one. I think a lot of people forget that in the middle of a game, players are ON. Professionals don't get paid millions of dollars a year to treat the game as just an extension of their every day lives. They get paid to bring everything onto the court, to kick aside every little distraction in life so that there is nothing but full 100% physical and mental focus on the game every time that clock is running. That's the look I see in Renee's face here, and that's the kind of intensity she's going to have to bring if she wants a shot at playing on the same court with the best furry basketball players in the world.
